EXPANDING AND DEVELOPING COMMUNITY:
BRINGING THE 2ND STORY APPROACH TO the workplace
2nd Story has collaborated with over thirty corporations and organizations in the Chicago area to create experiences and performances that can simultaneously build community and address sensitive issues. Whether it be crafting a multi-class workshop to deepen team member relationships, or facilitating a single event that dives into an analysis of a stand-alone topic, 2nd Story has the expertise and capacity to craft a one-of-a-kind experience for your employees.
Past partnerships include, but are not limited to, Abbott Laboratories, American Association of Pediatrics, The Gender and Sexuality Center at UIC, Hinshaw & Culbertson, Leadership Greater Chicago, Ogilvy & Mather, and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP
cENTERED IN STORY
Our Artistic Director frequently says, "Everything is rooted in story." 2nd Story's approach to workplace programming runs the spectrum from 'performative' to 'educational', and is always centered in story (generally the personal stories of the participants.) For example:
The Storied Experience
A facilitated, story-based experience around a specific theme or topic. Available for a daytime luncheon, all-day inclusion training, after work, etc.
THE THEMED PERFORMANCE
A performance of 2-4 stories that explore a specific theme and leave space for contemplation and conversation.
A Crafted Experience
One of our Core Values is Craft, and we take pride in sculpting our partnership to meet your needs. Elements of our work that frequently come into play include:
Development of Personal Stories
We believe that stories are what bind us to each other; they create empathy. 2nd Story has a unique ability to craft spaces where people can learn from and with each other via their own personal stories.
Individual stories help bridge the gap between the personal and the universal.
Together, we can change hearts and minds with stories.
