Amanda Delheimer
Artistic Director

Amanda Delheimer is a director, movement director, teaching artist, and playwright who believes that people coming together to tell and bear witness to stories has the power to change the world. After completing her Master’s in Theater and Spanish at the University of Chicago in 1999, Amanda worked in Los Angeles and Mexico before returning home to Chicago. She has served as the Artistic Director of 2nd Story since 2007, and is also an Ensemble Member with Lifeline Theatre. When she’s not running 2nd Story or making plays at Lifeline, Amanda spends her time working as a Strategic Planning Consultant with Lookingglass Theatre Company and directing the Goodman’s summer program for teens. She was an inaugural recipient of the Leadership U: One-on-One Fellowship, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and administered by the Theatre Communications Group. She is also in the inaugural artEquity Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Facilitator cohort, funded by the Mellon Foundation and hosted by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.  (she/her/hers)

LAUREN SIVAK
MANAGING DIRECTOR

Since joining the team in 2014, Lauren has grown the organization's fundraising event income by 300% and implemented a recurring donor campaign to increase individual giving. Under Lauren's leadership, 2nd Story moved from its loft-office space in North Center to a storefront at the corner of Lawrence Ave. and Sacramento Ave. in Albany Park. Prior to accepting her position with 2nd Story, Lauren served as the Managing Director of Walkabout Theater Company. During her time with Walkabout she oversaw the rebranding of the company’s visual and online identity, co-produced The Wild as part of Steppenwolf's Garage Rep 2014 Festival, and co-created the organization's first ever fundraiser. Harry L. Davis Executive Education Scholarship for Nonprofit Leaders through the University of Chicago and has two certificates in Nonprofit Management from UIC. (she/her/hers)

Ali Drumm, Director of Artistic Programs

Ali Drumm,
Director of Artistic Programs

Ali Drumm is a Chicago based arts administrator, production manager, and event coordinator. In addition to being 2nd Story's Producer of Artistic Programs, she also works at Loyola University Chicago in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts. She has worked with numerous other arts organizations, including The New Colony, the House Theatre of Chicago, Steppenwolf, the Apollo Theater (with Million Dollar Quartet), About Face Theatre, and Pivot Arts. (she/her/hers)

Max Spitz, Communications Coordinator

Max Spitz, Communications Coordinator

Max Spitz is a member of the recent Northwestern Class of 2016, where he graduated with a BA in Theatre. Throughout his life he has studied and practiced directing, set design, and performance both as an actor and a storyteller. He was lucky enough to bring several productions of new work to life in his time at Northwestern including Strangers of Intimacy by Marion Hill (Director) and Alligators by A.J. Roy (Set Designer). Some favorite performance credits include Urinetown (Hot Blades Harry), Amadeus (Van Swieten), and Polaroid Stories (G). (he/him/his)
